The United States has opened applications for the Electronic Diversity Visa (EDV) program for the year 2024. With the opening of applications, Nepalis are in the race to go to America for permanent residence after winning the lottery this year as well.
DV application opened on 19 October 2079 can be filled till 22 October (October 5 to November 8). Every year, the United States grants permanent entry to certain people through a lottery from among such applicants from different countries.
Pursuing the dream of finding a beautiful future in America, this year too, Nepalis have been lining up at the DV filling centers since the day the application was opened. The US Embassy in Nepal issued a public notice about DV and said that DV application is free.
However, DV charging centers have been operating in various places of Kathmandu Valley with a fee. From photo studios to cyber operators, they are filling out DV applications with fees, promoting to attract the eyes of the applicants.
In the on-the-spot observation conducted by online news about the crowd of people to fill the EDV, it was found that the citizens lined up with enthusiasm to fill the application to go to America. But they did not want to talk openly about why they are filling the application.
