Sandeep Lamichhane, the suspended captain of the national cricket team, has been arrested by the police. SP Dineshraj Mainali of Kathmandu Police told Onlinekhabar that he was arrested soon after landing at Tribhuvan International Airport from the Qatar Airways plane this morning.
He had given the information through social media that he was going to return to his country today. Even though it was supposed to land at Tribhuvan International Airport at 10 am, it was delayed for a while because the plane could not land due to bad weather. The plane of Qatar Airways, which came to Kathmandu from Doha, flew in the sky for a while.
While he was abroad, a girl had filed a rape complaint on 21st of August last year. He was out of Nepal to play in the Caribbean League when a complaint was filed against him. International police organization Interpol issued a diffusion notice against him as per the request of Nepal Police.
