From today, four-wheeled vehicles entering from Kathmandu’s New Road Gate have been arranged to park in the open platform. Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Ramshahpath has issued a notice that due to the increase in traffic in the New Road area of Kathmandu, open platform parking has been arranged for passenger, cargo and private vehicles.
According to the office, this arrangement has been implemented from today till Phulpati as the crowd increases during Dasain. It is mentioned in the notification that arrangements have been made for parking in the open platform by diverting from the place where the traffic island is placed from 10 am until the traffic volume is normal in the evening.
The office expressed its wishes for an accident-free journey during the festival and said that this system has been implemented to reduce the traffic congestion in the New Road area of Kathmandu. The police has requested the motorists to be patient and cooperate with the traffic management on the specified date and time.
