The collection and updating of the temporary voter list required for the elections to be held in accordance with the proportional election system will start from today.

Voters included in the provisional voter list can only vote for the proportional election system for the House of Representatives. In this way, the name must be included in the final voter list approved by the Election Commission to be included in the provisional voter list. Such voters will not be allowed to vote for the proportional election system for the provincial assembly.
The Supreme Court had ordered at various times in the name of the Election Commission to prepare a temporary voter list and prepare the necessary arrangements for exercising the right to vote in accordance with the provisions of the Voters’ Roll Act, 2073.

The Act provides that government employees, Nepali Army in barracks, Nepal Police, Armed Police, inmates in prisons, employees engaged in election work and security personnel living in old age homes approved by the government will be allowed to vote after collecting the temporary voter list.
From October 8th to 26th, as mentioned in the procedure, to include the name in the temporary voter list, the head of the relevant office of the provincial district election officer will have to verify it and send it to the office of the chief registration officer.
The list of provisional voters received on October 1st will be accepted and the electoral roll will be published in the relevant election office. On November 2nd to November 3rd, persons whose names have been omitted from the provisional voter list or there are errors in the published details will submit an application to correct the error. will be published.
